Just a quick post with the latest news. Clint is still in hospital and although we keep being told he may be able to come home tomorrow, it seems tomorrow never comes!
I'm not impressed with Mt. Sinai hospital. We feel Clint has fallen through the cracks-maybe because he's a cancer patient with a lung condition (different doctors) and thrombosis (different hospital) not to mention he's on the cardiac floor of the hospital (we assume because that's the only place they had a bed)
Doctors and nurses have been generally helpful and competent, but we never see anyone more than once (we are always told today the teams change or I'm off shift now) and they don't seem to communicate with one another let alone the patient and family!
Most of the fluid seems to have drained from the lungs, but there is still bleeding from the incision (we're quite easy to find if you come to the 16th floor-just follow the trail of blood!) Clint will not be able to come home until the drainage is complete, the incision is stitched and not showing any infection and they have sorted out what to do about his thrombosis as he can't be on the blood thinners he was prescribed because of the internal bleed.
If I sound somewhat frustrated that's because I am!
We hope Clint will be home soon, but still don't know when.
Thanks for the hospital visits, food packages (the hospital food is inedible), rides to and from the hospital, phone calls, emails, books and everything else that you, our wonderful friends and family have done for us.
We owe you!
