Well, I finally had a meltdown at the hospital today and as a result we got more action. The patient navigator (AKA trouble shooter) was quickly dispatched to try and placate me and make excuses for why Clint seems to have fallen through the cracks (my expression not his!)
The lung has drained well and they should be able to take the draining tube out tomorrow. Clint has seen the physical therapists today and they have been helping him walk a little with the use of a walker.
They have also scheduled an ultrasound on Clint's legs to check on the blood clots which may have worsened as he has been off the blood thinner for a week now. They have to find a balance between the risk of blood clots without the blood thinner versus the risk of another bleed if he continues to take it. The chemo could be the thing that tips the balance-Clint may have to go off the chemo for a while. We hope that his oncologist can be reached (he's away until Monday) and will make the decision about that.
I feel a bit more encouraged than I did yesterday and Clint is hoping to be home by tomorrow or Friday at the latest.
I'll keep you posted.
