Just a brief post tonight.
Not much news on the talc procedure-we have to wait and see if it has been successful. It seems that the painful knee is part of the thrombosis. We spoke to the hematology team tonight and it’s a fine balancing act because the cancer causes the blood clots which are kept manageable by the blood thinner, but in Clint’s case the blood thinner has risks because of the bleeding he has had in the lung cavity. The blood clots seem to be the riskier of the two as they can break off and travel to the lungs which is life threatening, so they are putting Clint back on the blood thinner, but at half the dose he was taking before.
Maybe we just became too complacent about how well Clint’s treatment was going!
He seems to be quite coherent when he has visitors, so don’t hesitate to visit. I think he will be in hospital until at least Saturday, maybe longer.
He woke up in Halifax this morning which has to be better than Bosnia (hope I’m not offending any Bosnians by saying that-please forgive me if I am.)
Keep those positive thoughts coming!

Dear Sue, Thanks so much for the updates...especially after the long hours you've been putting in at TGH. I hope that Clint can get some relief from that painful knee.
ReplyDeleteYou have found some of the most inspiring quotes. Although this one does not match the beauty and elegance of those you ave shared, it seems to apply to you and Clint this week.
Your persistence and fighting spirit are awesome.
Being defeated is only a temporary condition; giving up is what makes it permanent.
