We tried for an infusion again yesterday (Tuesday), but were told Clint’s blood was borderline so he couldn’t have chemo. We were very disappointed, but they asked us to come back today and try again. One of the nurses suggested that it might help if we walked up a few flights of stairs before the blood was drawn, so we followed her advice and this morning, walked up and down the halls and a few flights of stairs at the hospital, until we thought security might be called, then went to give blood.
Well something did the trick, because Clint was able to have his usual infusion today, which are very pleased about.
During the course of the next three weeks of chemo, he will have several scans and when we see the oncologist again on September 21st, he should be able to tell us how well the radiation and chemo in this second round has been working, how well Clint’s heart is withstanding the treatment, and what the next steps will be.
Please keep those positive thoughts coming.
Stay tuned.........
Dear Sue,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the update. I'm so glad the nurse took the time to give you the tip about walking a bit before the test. Who would have guessed???
Hugs to you both.
xoxo
