Clint has not been himself lately. He has lost lots of weight and grown lots of hair!! (see above). Actually the real story is, that since we only have one much coveted zero gravity chair, Clint has hired a local layabout to save the chair for him in case I get there first!
Clint has a break from chemo treatment this week, because of a low white blood cell count - we will go back next Tuesday to try again.
The next 3 week round will be the 6th round of chemo (18 weeks). The oncologist told us yesterday that they only normally do 6 rounds, but Clint can do another round if he wants to. We both feel that if the scans, due at the beginning of September, continue to show shrinkage of the tumours, we would like to continue. It will be contingent on whether Clint can tolerate another round, so he will have to have a couple of tests first, to find that out.
We continue to try and live life to the fullest and you, our friends and family are making this possible.
Thanks again!
No quote this time, but a suggestion for an amazing book I have just read.

Anti cancer : A New Way of Life by David Servan-Shreiber.

He is a scientist and doctor, diagnosed himself with brain cancer, and writes about what medicine knows about the illness and the little-known workings of the body's natural cancer fighting capacities. Part memoir, it has a concise explanation of what makes cancer cells thrive and what inhibits them, and drawing on both conventional and alternative ways to slow and prevent cancer.
I have become a fan and believer of his ideas!

Thanks to Karen Archer and Irene Bell for turning me on to this great book.

  2. The night Karen and I were disturbed by a family of foraging raccoons while watching the Blue Jays and drinking Labatt's Blue (beer drinking another expansion of my horizons provided by Karen) made me realise just how far I was from Oz.
Keep strong, Lots of love, Lorraine xxx
