Clint is still in Toronto General Hospital.
He needed a blood transfusion as his hemaglobin and platelet counts were low, and then this evening they were able to put another tube into the chest cavity to drain the fluid. They had surmised that the fluid was from the tumours and that the most likely treatment would be one where talc is blown into the chest cavity and sticks the lung to the chest wall, so getting rid of the cavity.
That was the expected result, but that would have been too easy! It turns out the fluid is blood, the same as it was the first time they drained it, so no talc treatment and they still don’t know where the blood is coming from. The next step might be to give him a CT Scan which could show what’s leaking.
He will probably be there for a few days yet, so he would be happy to have visitors and phone calls. He has a phone in his room, so get in touch with me at home if you would like the number.
