Clint’s scan results are great - all the tumours have shrunk, some by as much as 50%. The Oncologist, Dr. Burkes said the results were “amazing.” The chemo treatment is definitely working, so we will continue with another 9 weeks of the same treatment.
Clint wasn’t able to have a chemo infusion today, as his white blood cell count was too low, but they assure us this is a common occurence with chemo treatment. He has a week off, to allow his body to build up the white blood cells and we will go back next Tuesday when he should be able to start the next round of chemo.
The treatment has also caused some blood clotting in his legs, so he has started taking a blood anticoagulant. Tomorrow we have an appointment at the thrombosis clinic (another one to add to our ever-growing list!) where we will get more information and they will show us how to give Clint the daily injection of the medication he must take.
We are extremely happy with the results of the scan and all three of us are sure that Clint will continue to do well. We have been able to keep a positive attitude because of all the support we have had from you, dear friends and family, so please accept a BIG thank you from us!
The beat goes on!
