We had a setback on Friday when the results from Clint’s brain scan showed that the cancer has spread to three small spots on his brain. This cancer is treated with radiation rather than chemotherapy. Clint has started taking steroids to reduce swelling and then will go on radiation treatment as soon as he can get an appointment (quickly, we hope.)
It seems we have another battle to fight on our continuing journey. We will fight it and are still sure we will win!
We continue to be heartened by all the support we are getting. Don’t forget to phone, email and drop by whenever you can and keep those positive thought coming!
dear Clint and dear Sue,
ReplyDeleteI've been checking in daily, feeling that all our wishes for Clint's health being restored with all the strength of our caring about him might be the best medicine. But I thought I'd also ask if you have any herbal medicine on hand as support for his immune system throughout the chemo and radiation treatments -- since I know a wonderful herbalist in Toronto (from my own herbal studies) whose tinctures I have sent to a couple of friends with severe illness (one of them, breast cancer) and if you're interested, let me know, and I'll have him ship you something, my cost. Send word to my email address if you like.
Thanks so much for the offer, but we're embarrassed to say we can't figure out who you are and therefore don't know how to get in touch with you. Enlighten us please!
ReplyDeleteI finally made it onto the blog! I'm a bit of a luddite, it seems. It's your neighbour, Denise. Thinking many happy, healing thoughts and sending them straight across the street to my three lovely neighbours!
ReplyDeleteDear Sue and Clint,
ReplyDeleteWow! You are both amazing! And brave! What a wonderful picture of the two of you - I really hope this is the last of the trials sent to test you at this point - you are fighting so hard on all fronts!! My thoughts and prayers are with you daily - you are never very far from my heart.
Much love,
Cathy
By the way, I love the intro photo of Clint. Where was that taken? I think I want to go there!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the "excellent photo" comments! As Sue is the superb photographer in the family, I was very pleased, as I took the photo. :o) It was in Rosetta (sp?) McClain Park east on Kingston Road - a very pretty spot. Cheers all and thank you for your support.

The intro. photo of Clint is one of my favourites of him. We had climbed Mt. Fox Glacier in New Zealand and had reached the top! Clint thoroughly climbing and the look of satisfaction and joy on his face, to me shows well the Clint I love. On the other hand, if you were to see the photo of me at the top, you can tell by my grimace that hacking steps out of ice and slipping and sliding (and avoiding crevices)was not really my idea of fun!
ReplyDeleteOops; sorry. I was over-pleased and didn't realise that intro photo meant the top one. I only took the 'park' photo.
ReplyDeleteThe park photo looks great, Karen. Reminds me of the changing seasons in Toronto - Springtime of course so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI think Clint looks very Tolkeinesquely Hobbity and straight from Lord of the Rings in the top photo.
