It's been a week since Clint started chemo and so far the side effects have been minimal. He has not been sick, although he is very tired and has lost his appetite as well as his taste for sweets, which is something I never thought I would see!
We are trying to eat small meals several times a day which seems to work best.
We have both had Caesar hair cuts, Clint, so it won't seem so bad when the chemo causes his hair to fall out, and me, in solidarity!
It has been great to see the friends who have dropped in, at least one of whom we haven't seen in years!
I have set up the third floor deck as a peaceful bower for Clint to meditate and nap. He has a deluxe zero gravity chair and a large umbrella so he doesn't get too much sun. The staff from the school I last worked at bought us 2 beautiful hanging baskets of flowers, which look lovely up there. We were touched by their thoughtful gesture.
Thanks for the continued support of our friends and family members - we can feel your positive energy.

Sitting on the deck sounds like a lovely pastime, but I'm not sure what a zero gravity chair is/does!
ReplyDeleteI was warned during my chemo to keep out of the sun (it was Aussie summertime) as chemo affects the body's ability to produce melantonin.
Thinking of you both; I also have the snazzy haircut!
Cheers Lorraine
Me tambien wth the solidarity haircut - short and spiky! The deck IS lovely.
ReplyDeleteOops! Meant melanin.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo, Clint, very Tolkienesque.

I think this is a great way to keep us all up-to-date. Maarten and I are sending positive energy your way. We have also included Clint in our Prayer Circles we attend every 3 weeks. Much love xoxoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHave I got to go with the haircut as well?!
