Hi there,
Sue thinks I should add a few words just to prove I'm still here.
It's been two weeks since chemo started and I'm a believer. No nausea at all, (good drugs), hair still in and generally starting to feel a recession, slight , of some of the symptoms. We all know my capacity for self-delusion so we'll see what we see but any port in a storm. Holding that positive attitude is the hardest thing so far.
Thank you all so much for the calls, emails, cards and thoughts. I've been deeply touched to know how many people care for us both.
And thanks also to the Soup Commandos, filling our freezer with delicious stuff.
Not to mention the special supplier of mother's own milk. Why wouldn't it work?
My energy level is improving but it does flag suddenly and I need to nap a while. All are welcome to come by for a short visit and cup of tea; just don't be startled if my face is suddenly on the table. Onward and upward!

  1. Hi Sue and Clint
I'm really pleased to hear the chemo treatment is progressing well and that you are feeling positive benefits.
Hang in there, sometimes the rollercoaster is up, sometimes it's down, but the journey continues.
My best wishes to both of you, lots of hugs, Lorraine

  2. It was great to see your posting here, Clint. I see your sense of humour has not been affected by the drugs! I plan to come by for that cup of tea and to check out the beautiful deck.
    Hugs for you and Sue,
    Sue

  4. Looking good with the fancy haircuts there Clint and Sue! =)
So glad you're feeling okay with the treatments so far Clint. Keep it up! Sue mentions chants and mantras in her welcome message. When I was in the hospital during the bad time that I had a couple of years ago, on the side of the building it read: "There are always answers. We will find them." It's been something that I always try to remember when times get tough and I thought you might like it too!

Hope to see you both out by the pool soon!=)

  5. "Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural pain killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug."

This made me smile. Hope it has the same effect on you and Sue!

  6. I'd should give proper respect to the original artist, Jason Mraz.I wasn't familiar with Jason Mraz so I looked him up after I saw the uke boy video. Here's the official music video of the song.
